The Sharing

Head Over Wheels are currently developing a new children’s show, Mummy What’s Wrong with That Man’s Legs. Inspired by children’s curiosity around disability. After overhearing so many honest questions from children in the street (and seeing parents quickly hush them), Head Over Wheels wanted to lean into the discomfort and create something joyful, celebratory, and open. Through circus and set design, the show explores how absurd it is that disabled people are expected to navigate environments not built for them — showing that it’s our spaces and perspectives that need to change, not disabled people.

Feedback on audience interaction and participation will be welcomed.

The Artist
Head Over Wheels is a disabled-led integrated circus company of disabled and non-disabled artists. They create playful, accessible, high skill shows that challenge outdated ideas about how circus bodies look and move, while working with the sector to remove barriers for artists and audiences.
