The Work

Club Video is a new Miss High Leg Kick project which brings together diverse artists for a new project exploring the intersection of cinema, sound & performance in celebration of the VHS rental experience and an era before algorithms.

Club Video is inspired by working in a video rental shop in the 1980s, where customers could watch excerpts of films, or listen to the VHS as ambient sound. Club Video aims to bring audiences a sense of these forgotten rituals of the analogue era via a mix of live performance, sound and interactive installation, around a library of fabricated VHS “films”.

The Sharing

Following their upcoming week of R&D at 101 Outdoor Arts, please join Francesca Baglione (Miss High Leg Kick) and collaborating artists including Steve Nice, Abi Cunliffe, and Lorna Rees for an informal hour of experimentation, crafts, performance and sharing (with tea and biscuits).

Francesca Baglione is an Olivier Award winning live artist who uses collaboration and unusual approaches to audience engagement to create exciting, ambitious, accessible performances. Her shows are marked by humour, dance, a love of spectacle, and the unexpected.
