BLACK WOMXN LAB with Upswing

101 Outdoor Arts

A residential week of professional development and discursive collaboration for a group of 13 creative non-binary and female identifying professionals from Black African, Caribbean, Afro-Latinx and African-American and mixed Black Heritage, working in circus and outdoor arts.

This lab stemmed from the informal Sunday Brunch group, which was originally formed with support from Upswing in the height of the Covid pandemic.

101 reserved three places on the Lab for new individuals to join 10 of the existing Sunday brunch members at 101 Outdoor Arts (Newbury). The opportunity was for women and non-binary people from Black African, Caribbean, Afro-Latinx and African-American backgrounds, including those of mixed-Black heritage, working in circus and outdoor arts.

Accommodation and full catering was provided as part of the Lab.
