There are three separate rehearsal spaces in total. Two adjacent bays each measuring 12 x 24m (5.5m high at apex), these flexible spaces are available for devising, rehearsal and production of work. They are separated by a large sliding door. Each space has a height of 5.5m at the apex of the roof and is riggable for aerial work. The Middle Bay can be blacked out if necessary and has flat, double warehouse door access. The Big Space has access through a warehouse door (with a loading ramp) or through the Middle Bay access, we can drive a van into the space when necessary. The Big Space is also larger and while the main rehearsal area is 12 x 24m, there is more space outside of this which is separated by columns (please see separate floor plan). The Big Space also hosts a mezzanine space and additional toilets, shower and laundry facilities. The third space is The Studio which is a separate room measuring 10 x 8m, also 5.5m at the apex. The room always has a dance floor, which can be removed if requested in advance. The floors of all the spaces are concrete but an additional 10 x 8m dance floor can be unrolled if required by prior arrangement, and we also have 24 square metres of foam matting and two large crash mats. In-house PA and lighting equipment can be used by arrangement. All 3 spaces have their own large warehouse heaters.
A 12 x 24m fabrication workshop primarily used for metal working, woodworking and assembly. It can be used by resident companies by prior arrangement. A resident maker can be engaged to fabricate set items for companies, I agreed in advance. Workshop tools include ring roller, welder, radial arm saw and various hand and power tools, depending on amount of use we sometimes need to charge for consumables.
A large area overlooking the dining room where companies can hold meetings for up to 18 people. The mezzanine is a space for companies to be able to do some administration work, with access to computer and printer. Projection facilities are available.
101 has 2 fully equipped kitchens (in the same room) with 2 large cookers, 2 dishwashers, one oversize fridge/freezer, another large fridge, 3 microwaves, 3 toasters plus many pots/pans, crockery and utensils. Companies are encouraged to self-cater during their stay at 101, but we do have a contact for a very reasonable local chef should you require one.
Next to the Kitchen is a dining room with tables and chairs to seat up to 25 people – this space is shared by all users of the building. There are also sofas and other furniture in the space to create a place for companies to meet and socialize.
In February 2018 we had 15 purpose built accommodation cabins installed directly next to 101 – all are en-suite with small double beds (couples can share). One cabin is also a wheelchair accessible cabin. If your company exceeds 15, then we do have some single beds available that can be installed in the cabins, should members of your company be happy to twin.
